Simon is quoting the tag line for Ping Teo's The Jaded in that second panel. Can you guess who the bodyguards are gonna be? Yup, characters from The Jaded. Ping pointed out, though, that it probably wasn't so unusal for mercenaries to be advertising in an American newspaper--there's no reason the mercs couldn't be international, and they will do stuff for money. It does raise the question of how Jerome was able to raise enough money to hire them, though.
