When we were in Yellowstone, Clif and I marvelled at just how many people would go hiking without proper footwear, clothing, or snacks and water. We even saw a troop of Boy Scouts--boys who're supposed to always be prepared for things--about 5 1/2 miles into a 12 mile roundtrip hike going without water. In July.
