Earl is a being who enjoys his job entirely too much. The Product vs. Process thing is something I was actually discussing with my friend Everett at work the evening I drew this comic. The idea is that some people prefer the process of something, find their joy in the journey. Others are only satisfied with the Product, the knowledge that one has completed the task and can now say "I've done this." Tim is a Process being--his joy is in the act of temptation, not in winning Simon's soul.
