For those of you fortunate enough to have forgotten or not been old enough to remember the '80s, Robert Smith is the lead singer/guitarist of The Cure, a pop-Goth band that made teenage angst chic for a while. And no, I'm not really like this. I used to be, but I haven't written a poem with the word "loneliness" in it since I got to grad school.
