I think this comic introduces the characters of Earl, Simon, and even Jerome (indirectly) much better than the first comic. The first one really just sort of set up the premise--temptation and Simon's efforts (not always successful) to resist. Besides, an archangel smiting someone for pie? That's just damn funny.
